Frankensketch!

OUT NOW!

Frankensketch is a collaborative drawing game for iPhone and iPad. This style of drawing game has its origins in the surrealist art movement as a fun drawing practice known as “exquisite corpse” (which is kind of a weird name!).

But to me it’s a fun game I played with my kids when they were younger. You fold a piece of paper into 1/3rds and then you take turns, the first person draws the head and neck then you fold the paper to hide that drawing and then pass to the next person who draws the body from the bottom of the neck down to the waist. The final person then gets to draw the legs and feet, then when that’s done you unfold the paper to reveal whatever odd and amusing creation was the results!

So that’s the origins of Frankensketch, it is a fun game to play so I wanted to make the same game but playable on an iPhone or iPad.

How to use the app – a video walkthrough

This video takes you through all of the steps to make a drawing in Frankensketch!

How do I get it?

The app is now available as a free download from the App Store:

Download on the App Store

or try searching on the App Store for “Frankensketch”.

How much does it cost?

Frankensketch is free to download so please try it out! The free version allows you to keep up to 3 drawings stored in the library, so you can either keep using it for free and deleting older drawings (note, you can export any created drawings to your iPhone’s Photo library) to make way for new ones, but you can also purchase a one-time In-App Purchase (approx £2.99 / $2.99) to unlock unlimited drawings and to help support the development of the app.

Is there an Android version?

Sorry, there are no current plans for an Android version.
